How We Are Ignorant About “Woke,” Really

Against Ignorance is an attempt to bring the Light of Reason, and The Light of Faith to bear on seemingly unsolvable issues in order to propose solutions. These solutions do not carry political or religious weight but speak to a vision by the author for progress.

In the U.S. Woke is a specifically political view of progressive young people who want a society that treats all members fairly. Especially, Woke promotes social and racial justice. What we miss, as a society, is the real meaning of Woke which, IMO, is preached by the Eastern Rites Churches. Woke is especially preached in Ukraine.

Other senses of justice in the West, and the U.S. which reinterpret Eastern Orthodoxy include Atheism from the 1950’s-1960’s authored by Sartre, et.al. Eastern Faith preached Resurrection. Also, Existentialism of the 1870’s primarily authored by Kirkegaard. The Eastern Faith preached Love.
