Policies of Hugo Chavez continued by Venezuelan President Maduro are opposed by special interests to the detriment of programs intended to benefit the country’s economy. The disastrous result is no action after the dislocation of almost 7 million people over the past 10 years. Comments below.
The U.S. is willing to act in Central and South America. Evidenced in policies about Cuba under Fidel Castro, Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez, etc. But acting in the favor of special interests supposedly to advance the interests of the American people has led to the ruin of governments and the poverty of millions of people. The policies of both Democrats and Republicans have been misguided and have acted contrary to the interests of the American people in Central and South America.
